CAPITOL GAMES: So, the United States government shut down. Yeah. That happened - and, apparently, it was totally avoidable. But it looks like both sides have dug in, so we'll see how far this showdown takes us down the rabbit-hole. The shutdown unfolded one year to the day after President Trump’s inauguration, and the political peril it risked for both parties was evident as they traded blame for the crisis. But on the second day of the government shutdown, Trump began imploring Senate Republicans to invoke the so-called nuclear option, having the chamber vote on all legislation on a majority basis. When are we actually through the proverbial looking glass???
